According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan 56% say they have heard or read about Oscar award to Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Chinoy. Most of them said the news made them either very happy (40%) or happy (41%). 19% said they had mixed or no special feelings.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Recently, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, a Pakistani woman has been awarded an Oscar for her documentary ‘Saving face’. Have you heard or read anything about it?” Responding to this 56% claim that they have read or heard about it whereas 44% claim to have no information about it.
