Two third Claim Terrorism Has Increased in the Country; Views Are Split on Government’s Efficiency in Curbing Violence
 
 
A recent Gilani poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan shows that more than two third (73%) of all Pakistanis believe that the rate of terrorism has increased incredibly in Pakistan, 16% said it has decreased, 10% said it is the same, and 1% gave no response. Commenting on the current government’s ability, 44% believe they have completely failed. Forty four (44%) believe they have been successful in curbing terrorism to some extent while 9% claim the government has been highly successful.

The recent Gilani poll was conducted in Pakistan by Gallup Pakistan, affiliated with Gallup International Association, among a sample of 2765 men and women from rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 2009.
