Fifty two percent (52 %) say that recent acts of violence against robbers in
Karachi were "the right thing to do", 42 % oppose such drastic measures.
These findings emerged from national polls conducted by Gallup Pakistan on
May 18-19, 2008. Questions were also asked on change of time for daylight
saving and early closure of shops.
These findings form part two of the survey results that were released last
Saturday. The sample for the survey comprised 1595 men and women distributed
in the rural and urban areas of all four provinces. They represented a cross
section of various age, income and other socio-economic backgrounds. The
fieldwork was conducted face to face during May 18-19, 2008. The error
margin in this type of survey is estimated to be +3-5% at a 95% confidence
level.
